Reading without optional analytics

You can read every guide without accepting analytics. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity are not loaded until you select “Accept analytics.” A first-party preference cookie remembers acceptance or decline for up to one year. An essential local-storage signal shares that choice with other open tabs on this site. Your browser may clear this storage sooner.

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, necessarily processes request information such as an IP address, requested URL, and browser details to deliver and protect the site. The analytics choice does not stop the requests needed to open a page.

If you accept analytics

  • Google Analytics 4: measures visits, pages viewed, and basic browser and device information so we can understand how the guides are used. We disable Google signals and advertising personalization. We configure its analytics cookies to expire after 180 days without renewal.
  • Microsoft Clarity: helps us understand page interactions through features such as heatmaps and session recordings. The site marks page content for masking before Clarity loads, so text and descendant content are masked in recordings. Masking does not make interaction or technical data anonymous.

Both services may receive technical information, including the page address and device information, and may process it outside your country. Advertising storage and advertising personalization are not granted by our analytics choice. We do not use an advertising pixel or send events through the former server-side tracking endpoints.

Your choice and withdrawal

Use here or in the footer to accept or decline. If you withdraw a previous acceptance, we stop the tags, remove accessible analytics cookies for this site, and reload previously consenting pages to unload running analytics code. Other open tabs receive the change through browser storage events; pages also recheck the choice when brought into view or restored from browser history. Withdrawal does not erase data already sent to a provider; contact us about a deletion request.

Cookie settings apply to this site and browser. Other browsers and linked stores have their own settings. Browser privacy features may also block analytics even after acceptance.

Contacting us and following links

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you send so we can respond. Avoid sending dental records or sensitive health information. We do not offer an account, a health questionnaire, or a checkout on this publication.

Following an external link opens a site with its own privacy policy. Ordinary links may disclose a referring site address according to your browser’s settings. Our store links do not append a personal visitor ID or saved advertising click ID.

Cookies and retention

The preference cookie is named fg_analytics_consent_v2. Google Analytics uses cookies beginning with _ga. Clarity may use _clck and _clsk and related provider cookies when permitted. Provider retention and browser limits can differ from a cookie’s expiry; a cookie expiry is not a promise that previously collected data has been deleted.

We retain correspondence for as long as needed to handle the request and related records. For the current retention settings of analytics or hosting data, or to request access or deletion, contact us.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of personal data, object to processing, or withdraw consent. Email hello@flosserguide.com with the request. We may need enough information to verify and locate the relevant data. You may also contact your local data-protection authority.
